Denise J. Ammerman, LCSW-R is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker authorized to practice psychotherapy in New York state. She works with individuals and groups of children, adolescents, and adults, and with couples and families. She is grateful for the opportunity to offer her talents helping people through therapy.
Denise earned her Master of Social Work from SUNY Buffalo in 2007 after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Daemen College in 1983. She earned a post-graduate certification in Trauma Counseling from SUNY Buffalo in 2009. She is licensed to practice in New York State (LCSW-R license #R080821, NPI #1790147403).
Denise has fifteen years of counseling experience in inpatient and outpatient addictions, inpatient and outpatient mental health, an oncology hospital, and a nursing facility. Over the course of her career, she's built fruitful therapeutic relationships with hundreds of patients, each with his or her unique history, life situation, and mental health concerns. With her compassion, expert insights, and calming demeanor, she is driven to help each of her patients seek their personal place of peace.
Denise is a wife, mother of three adult children, and proud new Meemaw. Her husband of nearly forty years is still her best friend. Denise's personal interests include baking, gardening, family board games, tearjerkers and feel-good movies, and volunteering in Christian camping and education.
The prophet Jeremiah promises that God "will give those who are weary all they need. He will refresh everyone who is filled with sorrow."
